Who is Jev?
The judge. Opinions, and no friends in the industry. Jev reads your website the way a busy stranger would, writes the TL;DR you should have written and decides where your business ranks. Then everyone gets to see it.
What do I have to tell Jev?
Nothing. Paste your URL and pay. If your website can't explain your business, that is the verdict.
What does Jev look at?
Your homepage and a few pages it links to: about, pricing, docs and the like. Jev looks for what you do, who it's for, what it costs and any proof that it works.
Can I pay more to rank higher?
No. $5 buys a verdict, not a result. You can't buy #1. You can only buy Jev's attention.
Can my rank go down on a rejudge?
Yes. Every rejudge reads your site from scratch, and the newest verdict stands even when it's worse. That's the point.
Who can rejudge a business?
Whoever added it. They get a Rejudge button on their listing, and every rejudge costs the same $5.
Is my verdict public?
Yes. Every business on the board has a public verdict, a share link and a share card. That's the whole idea.
What if Jev can't reach my site?
Jev tries again for a few minutes first. If your site still won't answer, that isn't a verdict: nothing lands on the board and your $5 is refunded automatically.
Can I trick Jev with hidden instructions?
You can try. Jev reads hidden text too. Sites that try to instruct or bribe Jev get a permanent flag on their verdict, and Jev marks them down.
Why is a site missing from the board?
Jev judges adult, illegal, scam, hateful and parked sites like everyone else, but keeps them off the public board.
Someone added my site. Can I get it removed?
Yes. Email hello@rankedbyjev.com and a human will take a look.
JevBot, Jev's crawler
It fetches a handful of public pages once per paid judgment, so Jev can read them.
It always says who it is:

- Only when someone asks: a quick check when a URL is submitted, then one crawl per judgment. No background crawling.
- What
- Your homepage plus up to three pages it links to on the same site. Never links off-site.
- How
- Plain HTTP GETs. If your homepage is empty without JavaScript, Jev opens it in a real browser instead (Cloudflare Browser Run), still as JevBot. No logins, no forms.
- Limits
- Public http(s) addresses only. A few tries per page, each up to 30 seconds, 1.5 MB and 5 redirects.
